We bring harmony and practicality into great designs for everyone.
Our Story
The House of Sonship was founded in Jaipur, India — a city renowned for its timeless artistry, intricate craftsmanship, and deep creative heritage. Over the years, Jaipur’s rich traditions have inspired artisans and designers from around the world to collaborate, learn, and create together.
When Australian couple Bob and Janine Mann first visited Jaipur in 2000, they were deeply moved by both the city’s creative potential and the challenges faced by its artisans and underprivileged communities. They saw remarkable skill, passion, and artistry — but also a lack of opportunity for these talents to flourish on a global stage.
Driven by compassion and purpose, they began by setting up a small sewing training centre in 2004, offering young women from Jaipur’s slum communities the chance to learn, earn, and build independent futures. From sewing school uniforms for schools in Australia to now contributing to designer collections, many of these women have grown into skilled professionals shaping a new creative generation in Rajasthan.
WHY ‘SONSHIP’
The name Sonship reflects belonging, dignity, and connection — the belief that everyone deserves to be part of something greater.
At Sonship Enterprises, we see creativity as a bridge: connecting people, empowering artisans, and transforming communities. Every design tells a story — of craftsmanship, sustainability, and hope.
Our goal is simple: to create a platform where local artisans can showcase their handmade products to the world, and where every purchase directly supports the people and communities behind them.
Integrity, fairness, and quality are the cornerstones of our work. We are committed to serving our customers with stylish, high-quality, and responsibly made products, while using our profits to invest in education, training, and empowerment initiatives for women and children in India.
OUR VISION
Sonship Enterprises exists not for profit alone, but to create lasting social impact through design.
Our profits are reinvested into programs that uplift the communities we work with — including:
Children’s education, especially for the families of artisans.
Women’s empowerment, through literacy, skills training, and self-help initiatives.
Entrepreneurship and small business development, supporting women-led ventures and community growth.
Behind every product lies a team of skilled artisans, designers, and dreamers united by one purpose — to make beautiful, meaningful products that bring good into the world.
Together, we believe design can do more than decorate — it can transform lives.
